Suitable AC-6b capacitor switching capability. Auxiliary contacts. Adequate thermal/electrical rating. Proper coordination with capacitor protection. Capacitor-duty contactors rated for AC-6b operation are specifically called for in some Indian APFC specifications. GGujarat Agro Industries Corporation 10. Detuned Reactor Where harmonics are present or where specified by the consultant/customer, the APFC bank shall be provided with detuned reactors. The reactor percentage shall be selected based on the harmonic study and system requirements. Typical options include: 7% detuned reactor. 14% detuned reactor. A 7% detuned reactor is used in some specifications, while 14% is also specified for installations requiring greater harmonic detuning. GGujarat Agro Industries Corporation+1 Important: The reactor percentage should not be selected blindly; it should be finalized considering the existing harmonic spectrum and possibility of resonance. 11. Protection Each capacitor step shall have suitable protection by: HRC fuse / MCCB. Capacitor-duty contactor. Reactor protection where applicable. Over-temperature protection where required. Proper short-circuit coordination. The overall panel shall be designed so that failure of one capacitor step does not unnecessarily shut down the complete APFC system. 12.
